This great adventure will start Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 with Packet Pick-Up from 4 to 7 PM continuing Sat. from 6:30 to 7:30 AM with Packet Pick-Up at the Halliburton Building adjacent to (north of) Fort Richardson State Park, on the southern edge of Jacksboro, Texas. We’ll offer a Spaghetti Dinner and Ice Cream contest hosted by Friends of Fort Richardson (small additional fee) and Living History exhibits.  The Fort will be open for your viewing pleasure. 

Saturday, Oct 8—three ride options!

105 miles - Fort Richardson to Albany, the scenic tour!

61 miles – We’ll load up you and your bike, after a Trivia Stop in Graham we’ll drop you and your bike at Fort Belknap where you’ll ride on into Albany.

29 miles – We’ll drop you and your bike at Woodson after Trivia Stops at Graham and Fort Belknap.

Sunday, Oct 9— two ride options!

89 miles – Our test riders really liked this course, lots of beautiful Texas landscape!

34 miles – This is last year’s course from Albany to Breckenridge; you’ll miss the Trivia Stops the long course folks get…  But, don’t worry; we have some special ones for you!

Monday, Oct 10— two ride options!

82 miles – The same wonderful course as last year.

45 miles – You and your bike will be dropped off at the Old Jail Museum, don’t worry you still get to ride the famous Three Amigo’s!

Each day we’ll all gather at 8 am with the Long Ride people for a sendoff, then we’ll hang out for a bit, load the trailers, busses, trucks or whatever else we have to transport you in. We’ll drop you at the designated place for your ride into the next overnight.

Packet pick up and late registration will be at the Halliburton Building adjacent to (North of) Fort Richardson State Park Friday, Oct. 7 from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday, Oct. 8 from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM.

Rides start each day at 8 AM. Approved helmet required anytime you’re on your bike.

Entry Fee:  $150.00 if postmarked on or before September 15, 2011. 

Sep. 16 to Oct. 1—$175. Tour morning $200.

On line registration will close October 3.

Ride limit of 250 riders!

Shirts only guaranteed for entries received before Sept. 15. Waiver MUST be signed at packet pick-up.

Course descriptions

 

Texas is not flat, but it has flat spots! All weekend we’ll bike on rolling roads that cross beautiful meadows and small streams. We’ll pass all sorts of cows, horses, buffalos, jack rabbits, camels, hawks and buzzards.  The leaves should be turning, so get ready for some incredible fall foliage!

Different mileage options each day!

 

Day One – Saturday, October 8

     105 miles – The Hammerhead Ride; they get to ride 105.15 miles!!  Man, that hamburger in Albany sure is going to taste good!

     61 miles – Medium distance riders get dropped off at Fort Belknap for a 61 mile ride after we stop at Graham for a Trivia Stop.

     41 miles – Short riders get dropped off at Woodson for a 29 mile ride into Albany.  On the way to Woodson we’ll stop at Graham and Fort Belknap for Trivia Stops.

Day Two – Sunday, October 9

     89 miles – Our test riders really liked this course, lots of beautiful Texas landscape!

     34 miles - Short ride goes on last year’s course from Albany to Breckenridge, you’ll miss the Trivia Stops the long course folks get…  But, don’t worry; we have some special one’s for you!

Day Three – Monday, October 10, 2011

     82 miles - Long ride, same as last year from Breckenridge to Fort Richardson.

     45 miles - Short riders get dropped off at the Old Jail Museum for a 44.37 mile ride which will include the “Famous” Three Amigos!

 

Not riding but want to have a meal ticket?  No problem, 3 days breakfast is just $25 and 3 days dinner is just $35. Let us know you’re coming and we’ll have food for you!

Race Management reserves the right to change anything and everything about the events to insure a safe, fun weekend.  Whiners will not be tolerated and will be forced to ride  pot hole covered roads infested with large, aggressive dogs in a cold rain!
